Cranberry Sauce w/ Raspberry Vinegar


1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup raspberry vinegar
1/4 water
1- 12oz package fresh cranberries
1 cinnamon stick
1 tbsp grated orange peel (orange part only)

Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy sauce pan over med-high heat. Bring to a boil stirring until sugar dissolves. Mix in cranberries, cinnamon stick & grated orange peel. Reduce heat, cover partially & simmer until berries pop, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool completely. Sauce will thicken as it cools. Discard cinnamon stick. Can be made up to 1 week ahead. Cover & chill.
