Apple Hazelnut Stuffing
Enough stuffing for a 10 lb turkey
5 cups multigrain bread, torn into bite size pieces
1/4 cup butter
1 cup hazelnuts, chopped coarsely
2 onions finely chopped
2 apples, peeled, cored & coarsely chopped
1 tbsp dried tarragon leaves
1/4 cup cayenne sauce (hot sauce)
In shallow baking pan, spread bread pieces in one layer.
Bake in 325F oven stirring occasionally for 10-15
minutes until golden. Transfer to large bowl, set aside.
In large skillet over medium heat, melt butter & sauté
hazelnuts till browned. Stir in onions, apple, tarragon
& cayenne sauce. Add to bread & toss well. Cool. Lightly
stuff turkey before roasting.
