Tavern Bread
3 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup beer at room temperature (do not use light beer)
1/4 pound butter, melted
This is the easiest Beer Bread ever. Serve this with a
hearty soup and green salad,
and you've got a good winter supper. This can be frozen
and reheated before serving.
Preheat oven to 350F. Mix flour and sugar. Add the beer
and mix well. Spoon into a
greased 9x5" loaf pan. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes.
Remove from oven and
pour melted butter over loaf. Return to oven for 15 more
minutes.
